Privacy Policy

Vidur Foundation India is committed to being straightforward about how we handle your information. This policy tells you exactly what we collect, why, and what we never do. No legalese. No surprises.
What we collect
We collect only what you choose to give us:
- Newsletter subscriptions: Your email address, and optionally which pillar (Education, Health, Agriculture, Finance) you selected. That's it.
- Contact form submissions: Your name, email address, optional subject, and message.
- Server logs: Standard web server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. These are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes and are never shared.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking scripts. We do not place advertising cookies. We do not build user profiles.
Why we collect it
- Email (newsletter): To send you new articles when we publish them. You subscribed; we send. Nothing else.
- Contact form data: To respond to your message. We do not add contact form senders to our newsletter without separate consent.
- Server logs: To keep the website secure and diagnose technical problems.
Cookies
We use one type of cookie: a session cookie for security. This is a temporary, server-generated token used to protect our contact and newsletter forms against automated abuse (CSRF protection). It is not used for tracking, is not readable by third-party scripts, and disappears when you close your browser.
We also load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these fonts, Google may log your IP address and browser type per their own privacy policy. We use the display=swap parameter to minimise data sent.
How we store your data
Newsletter emails are stored in a secure CSV file on our Hostinger web server, hosted in servers within the European Union. The file is not publicly accessible. Contact form messages are delivered to our team email and not retained on the server beyond the initial delivery.
We do not store payment information of any kind — we do not process payments.
Who we share your data with
No one. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal data with third parties. We do not use email marketing platforms — newsletters are sent via our web server's mail function.
Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable law, you have the right to:
- Know what personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Withdraw consent for newsletter emails at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at vidurfoundationindia@gmail.com with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 10 working days.
Unsubscribing
To stop receiving our newsletter, email vidurfoundationindia@gmail.com with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line and include the email address you subscribed with. We will remove it promptly — no questions asked.
Children's privacy
Our website and newsletter are intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance.
